THE TOOLS

TOOL #1: TRUST GOD “If you’re headed down the path of being a godly dad, you won’t get too far without something guiding your direction. You’re gonna need a true north. Trusting God is the first tool you need in your pack.”

TOOL #2: KNOW SCRIPTURE

TOOL #3: PRAY FERVENTLY “The more you trust God and the more you know His Word, the more you realize you need Him. You can’t do this alone. You need help. Reliance on God requires communication with God. It’s a two-way transmission that never stops.”

TOOL #4: BUILD RELATIONSHIPS “You’re not built to go through this life alone. Forces are waging war against you. For you to have the tool of building relationships, you’ll need to head these relationship killers off at the pass— PRIDE: Self-focus is so subtle you often don’t see it until it’s too late CULTURE: You’re told real men keep silent–if you talk, you’re the odd-man-out COMPETITION: You compete all the time and it’s exhausting.”

TOOL #5: SERVE OTHERS “When we serve out of duty, we’re doing it begrudgingly. We do it because we have to. When we’re serving from a place of devotion, we’re serving because we care about the other person. We do it because we choose to. When we serve from a heart of delight, we’re actually, looking forward to serving. We do it because we get to.”

TOOL #6: STEWARD RESOURCES “The Godly dad understands everything he has is not his own. His money, time, family, possessions, influence. These are all gifts that must be stewarded well.”

TOOL #7: MAKE DISCIPLES “The Godly dad makes disciples. There are two places where you should be discipling others.”
